About

Rachel Appleby is an Artist and Printmaker based near Nottingham and originally from North Norfolk. Her work is almost always influenced by her home county and its coastal locations which are an endless source of inspiration.

Rachel has a BA Hons degree in Textile Design where her love of colour, pattern and printmaking really took off. With some experience as a print design intern and junior greetings card designer, Rachel set up Rach Appleby Art in 2020.

Creative Practice

Rachel's work is split between printmaking and painting with some other crafting thrown into the mix. She discovered her love of printmaking while studying her Textile Design degree at Nottingham Trent University during her final year project in 2018.

Since starting her small business in 2020, Rachel has continued to push her creative practice, selling work in galleries, taking part in makers markets and exhibitions as well as working on unique commission projects. Her love of the sea is most evident in her style of work, capturing many coastal locations through lino print and oil paint. Themes of home, memories, places and the natural landscape are represented in her signature, stylised way or working.
